1. Sweden head coach Thomas Monten and assistant coach Anders Lundberg have tested positive for COVID-19, and neither coach will be heading to Edmonton. Two members of the German team also have tested positive and won't be heading to Edmonton, including 17th overall pick Lukas Reichel.2. With the start of the World Junior Hockey Championship set to take place in the Edmonton bubble just over two weeks away, International Ice Hockey Federation president Rene Fasel announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be in isolation for the next 10 days.3. Team Canada has less than a week until they have to report to the Edmonton bubble for the World Juniors, yet just got out of their 14-day quarantine after positive tests halted their selection camp.
